A marathon on a tropical island!

Imagine running on the rhythm of the crashing waves, warm rays on your skin, the sweet scent of exotic flowers mixing with the cool sea breeze and breathtaking views as far as the eye can see. Now imagine running the Mauritius Marathon on the 20th June 2010 !

The long awaited Mauritius Marathon has finally arrived and is expected to be a truly unique experience, even for the most experienced runner.

The course of 42,195Kms on the beautiful coastal road between Tamarin and Saint Felix has been measured and certified by an official Olympic measurer. The coastal running course will show the participants and spectators beautiful sea sides sprinkled with fisherman, surfers and other sports fanatics. Each corner unveils interesting and spectacular sights - from the vast sugar cane fields of Bel Ombre, the Riviere des Galets beach and the hidden treasure of the Ilot Sancho in the beautiful bay of Jacotet , the white washed salt planes, to the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Le Morne Mountain). The cheerful sounds of numerous Mauritian bands can be heard along the entire course, expressing the musical cultural background of the Mauritians and ensuring extra motivation for the participants and spectators alike.

The Mauritius Marathon is an IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) and an AIMS (Association of International Marathon s and Distance Races) certified race.

This marathon is eco responsible; a percentage of each registration will be given to two associations: Friends in Hope and the Mauritius Marine Conservation Society. A multitude of nationalities is expected to attend the marathon, combining a colourful road race with a sports challenge and the innate splendour of Mauritius

We currently have 4* packages available, but can offer other alternatives if the need arise.
