Hall of Fame
Selection Criteria
On an annual basis at their March Conference/AGM the Manitoba Runners'
Association will recognize worthy Manitoba Runners and/or Builders/Volunteers
who have had a significant impact on the Manitoba road running seen
by inducting them into the Manitoba Runners' Association Hall of Fame.
The following is the criteria and procedures for the Manitoba Runners'
Association Hall of Fame.
- Nominations to the Hall of Fame must be made by members in good
standing of the Manitoba Runners' Association.
- Nominees must have been born in the Province of Manitoba or contributed
to the sport of running while a full time resident of the Province
of Manitoba.
- Nominations must be submitted in writing on the official Nomination
Form by midnight on January 31st of each year. Nominations will
be valid for 3 years, therefore, if a nominee is unsuccessful for
induction in their first year their name will stand for consideration
for 2 consecutive years thereafter.
- There will be a maximum of 5 people inducted into the Manitoba
Road Runners' Hall of Fame each year in one of 3 categories: runner,
builder or a combination of runner/builder/volunteer. The induction
ceremony will take place each year at the March Conference/AGM.
- A committee comprised of a chair and 4 members in good standing
of the Manitoba Runners' Association as approved by the board of the
Manitoba Runners' Association shall review and select the induction
class each year. A minimum of 1 committee member must be from the
board of the Manitoba Runners' Association. This selection meeting
shall be held on the 2nd Monday of each February. It is mandatory
that the chair and 4 voting committee members attend this selection
meeting.
